Courtney’s moving to Newtown to start a band Top floor room in a share house with friends of friends She’ll play guitar In all the bars Courtney’s moving to Newtown to start a band Paige is moving to Glebe for a change of scene She’s outgrown the friends she had in her teens The suburbs are So very far Paige is moving to Glebe for a change of scene And yes there will be boys In pretty band t-shirts Who make a pretty noise Who’ll get them pretty hurt Still Courtney’s moving to Newtown to start a band Emma’s moving to Enmore cos Courtney’s there She’s practising drums and dying her hair They need a bass So they called Paige Emma’s moving to Enmore cos Courtney’s there And yes there will be boys Who’re bound to break their hearts But what’s the other choice Just living in the suburbs married to some guy And paying off a house until the day you die And you turn into your mother as the world goes by And having all these dreams and never even trying Courtney’s moving to Newtown to start a band She’s got two months deposit and she’s booked the van The suburbs are So very far Courtney’s moving to Newtown to start a band

Oh love You’ve been dancing ‘round my mind Like candlelight on my wine Oh love Oh your smile Slowly sweetly sips for a while The taste that makes my heart go wild Oh your smile Oh your touch Makes me think I’ve had too much For you I’m a hopeless drunk Oh your touch And I don’t like who I am When I stop to drink That I don’t know who I am Without you as my drink Oh love You’ve been dancing ‘round my mind Like candlelight on my wine Oh love

Stay Home 03:27
The world is going crazy Everyone’s insane It’s cold outside and looks like it might rain We really should be saving It’s weeks until we’re paid But I’m willing to spring for takeaway Hey, let’s stay home again There’s nothing at the Dendy All these bands are lame Its been so busy we haven’t talked all day I’m happy to be lazy Wind the time away With Parks And Recreation season eight Hey, let’s stay home again Our little corner of the world Our side of the tracks Our little universe Our little inner west flat King Kong is escaping He’s marching down Broadway Climbed the UTS and swatting planes Hey, let’s stay home again

I'll face it You are never coming home To Australia Street or Sydenham Road Sometimes someone has to go How I miss the days Before you went away I’d love to Be sitting ‘round a drink with you At the Town Hall or the Warren View See your sister sometimes too I don’t see her these days She moved to Neutral Bay I’m doing OK But the Inner West still misses you I'll face it I’ll never hear your voice again It’s just the sound of passing planes New teenagers on the train Wearing all those clothes We wore years ago You know that The boys are still hanging out On Sundays down at the Courthouse Some of them have kids now We wonder if you’re good You miss the neighbourhood They’re doing OK But the Inner West still misses you How I miss the days Before you ran away I’m doing OK I'll face it I’ll never see that face again On platform nineteen in the rain New teenagers on the train The kids we were before We aren't anymore I’m doing OK But the Inner West still misses you

The night is coming to an end I still have the songs in my head Drinking til I made a mistake I looked at my watch now I wait For the night bus home People spilling onto the street The gays and the goths and the Greeks Wasn't it a wonder we'd meet? Trying hard to find a seat On the night bus home Maybe tonight is the night When you look back and everything changed Maybe that boy was the boy you’ve been looking for Imagine us here when we’re old Walking past the places we strolled We first kissed on that spot Here's where I'd wait at the stop For the night bus home The Marly down to RPA Clems and then the IGA The Enmore theatre and cafe Then another IGA On the night bus home Do you think we’ll live here forever?

She never phones From the great unknown Oh this bird has flown away I’ve got her cat And the keys to her flat Is she coming back some day? She posts photos on my wall While I’ve got nothing to share at all Work all year For four weeks holiday Is this why we’re really here? Is this how we’re really made? Every morning I fight the war Battle for Victoria Road She’s skipping stones In the heart of Rome Is she coming home some day? No two days for her’s the same While I’m at pub quiz again Work all year For four weeks holiday Is this why we’re really here? Is this how we’re really made? She sells sea shells by the shore While I have excel in my stall Work all year For four weeks holiday Is this why we’re really here? Is this what it’s all about Can you help me to get through it Can you help me to get out?

She's been waiting for the heat to pass Then at least, at last She'll go out again Does her make-up on her balcony While the westerly Comes rolling in Sometimes, she feels Like its a crime to miss the show Sometimes, she feels Like she don't know why her friends don't go Another night out with the same old plan If we don't get to talk I'll understand Stood in silence staring at a band So the friendly boys Never stood a chance Sometimes, she feels Like its a crime to miss the show Sometimes, she feels Like everything's a little wrong And going out from dusk til dawn Is the same as standing still too long Maybe she should sing a different song But the same three chords keep rolling on All her friends are going off to work In her undershirt She'll be sleeping in Later on and as the night airs cools And theres something to do She'll go out again

Strangers 05:43
Baby we were too young We’re always gonna fuck it up, yeah Passion is a fashion that’s going out of style Baby you hurt me so And I just can’t let it go and I can’t forget all the things you said If only we had not met And I had not hurt you yet Could you imagine You and I as strangers Meeting for the first time? If only we could erase All those awful days Could you imagine You and I as strangers Meeting for the first time? Baby you did me good You’re the only one who understood me And I tried too hard to make sure that you saw Baby I can’t move on You’re the only one who turned me on, yeah I can forgive all the things you did And there's a version of this story With us meeting in our forties You're more beautiful than ever And I've got my shit together But we were seventeen That’s all we’ve ever been And we will never be

12 Girls 04:10
Those 12 girls love with over the course of my life Well they drift into my That I fell in mind from time to time Those 12 times That I fell head over heels for a pretty face Well they put my selfish heart back into its place Those 12 girls Are the lessons I've learnt If I met different girls I would be someone else Oh, I am who I am Cos of 12 girls I was walking down the street you lived when I knew you I was someone different then I bet you're different too 12 years old And I didn't think I'd ever fall in love I was calculating chances and cursing my luck Those 12 times That I let the perfect girl walk right out my door And I didn't think I'd fall in love anymore Well I always let it go I just thought that you should know Those 12 girls Are the lessons I've learnt If I met different girls I would be someone else Oh, I am who I am Cos of 12 girls I was walking down the street you lived when I knew you I recall the sounds of morning drift in your bedroom I was someone different then I bet you're different too No one else will ever know me quite the way you do Those 12 girls Are the lessons I've learnt If I met different girls I would be someone else

I’ve been reading Raymond Carver Thinking of the faceless father How we’ll never know anything about love David Foster Wallace Couldn’t work out what he wanted So he had to go and leave us I’m certain that uncertainty’s part of the plan You cannot live in fear of things you don’t understand Greet every morning with an open heart Be unafraid of the dark I’ve been listening to Henry Rollins How your teaching’s not worth knowin’ How you have to starve your mind to hunt Ian Kevin Curtis Couldn’t work out his purpose So he had to go and leave us I’m certain that uncertainty’s part of the plan You cannot live in fear of things you don’t understand Greet every person with an open heart Be unafraid of the dark I’ve been watching Woody Allen How there’s no reason to what happens You have to 'cide for yourself what works Philip Seymour Hoffman Couldn’t work it out too often So he had to go and leave us I’ve been learning from Carl Sagan How smart men can be mistaken How we’ll never know anything about life Neil DeGrasse Tyson Couldn’t let us all stop trying So he had to go and free us I’m certain that uncertainty’s part of the plan You cannot live in fear of things you don’t understand Greet every morning with an open heart Be unafraid of the dark

about

My debut solo album of sweet pop songs about a certain part of a certain city.

There's also a bonus PDF booklet. I don't really know what to do with bonus booklets either. They come with some albums, I kind of look at them once, and then that's kind of it. But I guess it's better than NOT having one. So keep that in mind when you're thinking about buying this album.
